I need to replace the curtains on my 1978 Catalina 27. Has anyone found a vendor for these? |

I don't think the "old style" curtains for a 78 boat are being made any longer by Catalina Yachts. You could probably find information, or at least find a C27 owner who could give you the dimensions on the www.catalina27.org website. Some of the newer boats are using the pleated horizontal blinds now which are carried by this chatroom sponsor Catalina Direct. Click in the upper right corner where it says "Shop our Store", select "Catalina 27" "Interior" and scroll down and you will see the shades. If you want "Original" curtains, you will probably need to check with RV Stores for curtain parts and pay custom to have the actual curtains made, or do it yourself, once you get the proper dimensions. Once you get to the C27 website you could probably post a want curtain request, and maybe someone who has bought the newer shades has a old set laying around they would be willing to send you. Good Luck! |

Oh I forgot to say. Most "Drapery" or "Upholstery" listings in the yellow pages can give you a quote if you have the dimensions they will need. Using drapery fabric which has a polyester content is less likely to mildew and rot from sun exposure. If you purchase and do it yourself, avoid cotton as it mildews and rots easily. |
