I have two of the handles but would have to look to see where they even are. You are right, the handle slips into the rectangular slot to turn the winch. There are plastic boots that are fastened to the front of the seats in the cockpit to slip the winch handle into. Fact is that I don't even use my winch handles. There is not enough force on the jib, either 100% or 150% to require a winch handle. I just wrap the line around the winch and pull it by hand. My boat has a block with a locking cleat on each winch so using the winch handle is a royal pain anyway.
