Anyone ever stiffened the hull by attaching bulkheads to the hull leaving a race way for water to get back to the bilge area? I think they are only attached to the liner with screws? I don't race OD with the boat I sail on Lake Erie and would think a stiffer hull at the chain plates would be better in the chop/higher winds less flexing and a bit less thunderous when pounding over the chop. They would be 1/2 marine plywood sister-ed up to the original bulkheads with a laminate layer or 1708 down/ through the liner and glassed to the hull with a fillet and 1708 cloth then chain-plates with longer bolts and a stainless backing plate on the other side installed?
