I love to sail of Lake Ontario. You can cruise to different places, and after you get a mile out, you don't have to contend with many motor boats, jet skis etc. Usually the wind is less than 15 knots and the waves are less than 4 ft. but sometimes it can be very nasty.
I just checked the buoy in the middle of the bay via internet, and it has been blowing over 25 knots for more than 30 hours, with gusts to 40. The waves have built to 10.5 feet!
I find the C22 is fine in 20-25 knots with reduced sails, but you want ot be at the dock whenthe waves get over 5 feet.
