I am planning to convert from my wire halyards to all line. My halyards are currently run to the cockpit and I want my new ones to be long enough to do that. My plan is to pick up the 1/4 line after work today and I will not be able to go by my boat to measure the old halyards. Does anyone know the correct lengths of line I will need to do this replacement? I think I will just leave the old sheaves for the time being. Thanks

Hello Mike,
Main halyard: 60 feet
Jib halyard: 63 feet
Today I just buy 130 feet and cut it in half.

Is it working okay, using all line with the original sheaves? And how is it to use only 1/4 line?
I have to replace my halyards and would go to all line if it's that simple (no sheave/pulley change outs.) |
