One of the 3 screws broke off on the lower gudgeon on my Catalina 25. I say screw (not bolt) because I can't see where a bolt would come through the stern. The alternative is that after being though-bolted, in was glassed over. Has anyone replaced the lower gudgeon? If so, can you confirm that it is a screwed attachment? I plan on working on it next weekend and any helpful hints before I go down to the boat will be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? My lower gudgeon just came off (while sailing in 8-10 foot swells) and I am wondering the same thing. I haven't checked the inside yet.
