Wow!.....you never know when your time will come. What a shame. I have been reading and conversing with Dick through these email groups for a few years. Never met him, but I really feel like I know him. Was it his heart?

I never met Dick. Even so, I'd always watch for his comments on anything C22; other stuff too. He always took time to explain things; to rookies (like me) and seasoned salts alike.

Bye Dick. Bon Voyage.

I’m joining to the thoughts and prayers to Dick’s family. I had never met Dick, but was the first person answers my beginner’s inquiries regarding the Catalina 22. I still keep his first email with this phrase:

“A bad day sailing beats almost anything worth doing”.

Sometimes, my mailbox gets jammed up and I, sorry to say, skip the forum, (and lots of other mail, too), but for some reason, I did click on this one and was shocked to hear about Dick's crossing 'over the bar'.....My sincere condolences may be added to the long list of people who will miss his wisdom in the world of sailing. He was 'some guy'!

Being remembered as Dick will be by members of this board, and I'm sure others whose lives he touched, is a great tribute to him and well deserved.
