I just got a CDI furler that was on a 1987 catalina 22 I have a 1981 c22. Was wondering if anyone knew offhand if the pin to pin length is the same.

I would like to be able to skip that step and just install it

Thanks

Rick,

I don't think pin to pin length is the issue on a CDI furler. I have one. If it is too long. it can be shortened. But if it is too short, it will not be because of the forestay, it will be due to the jib luff. That's what counts. Another issue is that you have to have the forestay that ends with a screw, not the one that ends with a loop. The loop will not work on the CDI furler. You can purchase a new forestay from Catalina Direct. In fact if you do have the old style (loops) in might be time to replace the whole standing rigging anyhow.
