I just bought a used Catalina. I have the manufacturers statement of origin which states the Mfr's Serial # as CTYH2955D585. I am confused because based on everything I see in discussions this bought should have a hull # in the high 12,000's or low 13,000's. Am I missing something? Thanks for any info.

Hey Phil,

I believe your boat is a 1985 model and your hull is #12955. For some reason, Catalina was using an "H" instead of a "1" in the serial number. Probably because it more accurately depicts the model to them.

Thanks Mitch. This afternoon I moved the mast support and found the ID plate in the rear. 12995 is correct.
