I have heard good things about blade jibs, but I'm not entirely sure what they are.

From what I can gather, it is a jib with little or no overlap that is hoisted to the top of the forestay. Is this correct?

What would the advantages of such a sail be compared to say a 135% genoa (which I guess would not usually hoist quite a high up the forestay)?

What we be a good overlap for a blade sail for a C22? I'm looking for something that gives more speed than the standard working jib (a 110% overlap), points well to wind, but is not overpowered in 15-20 knot winds.

Any ideas gratefully received!

Best regards,
