I have a new to me 1990 wing keel. I wanted to know how the hull and deck are joined on this boat.
Also, is this boat "hand laid" fiberglass or "chopper gun" applied fiberglass?

The upperworks are joined to the hull by either rivets or screws that are located underneath the rub rail. I have no idea how the new C 22's are laid up but my '70 model is fiberglass mat.
Have fun with her.

Hey Baj,
You have aroused my curiosity. Why do you want to know this stuff? You aren't planning on taking the boat apart....... are you? If you don't know what you are doing you are much better off letting a professional do that stuff. I had a friend who had a fiberglass boat repair shop on my farm for years and I worked with him quite a lot. There is a lot more to this stuff than most people realize.

Greg--
I am not doing any fiberglassing, as boat is in excellent cond. I was just curious about fasteners (sheet metal vs bolt and nut) and hand laid vs chopper gun.
