Has anyone ever removed the aluminum rub rail for painting? I am in the midst of refinishing the hull of my C.22 and was wondering what I'd be getting into if I removed the rub rail. The thought of resealing those 150 screws doesn't delight me in the least bit. I'm thinking about just taping underneath and spraying the paint in as best I can. Any thoughts?? Thanks

Carl,
I just taped it off and rolled and tipped the top side paint. The result was plenty adequate for my needs. It looks fine from 10 feet away! Here's a shot of the result:
