I have a 1978 C22 that has been sitting for about 10 years in a suburb of Chicago. The cabin had about 12" of water in it when I finally made a visit. Is it worth going through a restoration or has the water and freeze/thaw cycles of the last 10 years ruined the hull beyond repair.
Follow up question, if it's not a hopeless case - where do I begin?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

If it is still holding water, it should be sound and worth cleaning up. BTW, I grew up in Bellwood.

You will most likely have to replace the wooden stringers that help maintain the shape of the hull.
Could be a difficult job. |

Be sure to check her for blisters in the area that held the water all those year, my money is on there being blisters, it's not designed to hold water in, just out, nothing protecting the laminate on the inside.
