Deadlight Repair Kit with Polycarbonate

Your original deadlight lens installed at the factory was acrylic. At 14 times stronger than glass, it has lasted quite well. But at less than 1/4" thick and after repeated stress from deck shoes, many of you have reported failures.

Our deadlight repair kit substitutes polycarbonate for the original acrylic top lens. Polycarbonate is 250 times stronger than glass so it is much less likely that even a gorilla size crew is going to damage it. And, even though polycarbonate is substantially more expensive, we have not increased the price above that of our former acrylic part!

Deadlights were used in the deck before the advent of transparent forward hatches. The deadlight provides natural light inside the cabin even when all hatches are closed. Some boats were equipped with one deadlight, others with two.

Used on boats built in the mid 80's including the Capri 22, Catalina 22, Catalina 25, Catalina 27, Catalina 30, Catalina 34 and Catalina 36. Overall dimensions are 4-1/8" X 8-1/8". See suggested items below for the appropriate sealant/adhesive for installation.
