Control cable for either shift or throttle. Our Supreme cable has a splined inner core which has a snug fit yet minimal contact with the liner for minimal friction. The core slides within a high density polyethylene liner. It is lubed for life for smooth, maintenance free operation. This plastic against plastic movement decreases friction and increases efficiency by 45% over other push-pull cables. As a result, they can be installed with a bend as tight as a 4" radius. Even when a larger radius is possible, the higher quality cable provides smoother, easier operation and longer life. Other cables must be installed with a minimum radius of 8". This is often difficult to achieve in a sailboat installation, especially at the base of your steering pedestal.

Suitable for use on Westerbeke Universal Diesel engine installations.

Early C-34 throttle: Although Catalina has no record of the cable length used on the C-34 MKI, customers report a 12' throttle cable works better than their original, longer cable installed by the factory. I suspect shorter cables can be used to advantage on boats built until the MKII was introduced in 1994. I suggest you measure your boat to verify that these findings apply to your boat. See note below.

Note: It is wise to check the length of your original cable before ordering as we have encountered installations that were not consistent with the original dimensions as reported by Catalina Yachts.

Caution: Due to the high loads required for its transmission, this cable cannot be used for the shift cable in an Atomic 4 installation.
