The old Coronado masthead had an arched tube that created a tremendous amount of friction when you hoisted the main. This new masthead incorporated two sheaves and eliminated the friction caused by the old tube.
Because the thimbles on the halyard are larger than the
exit holes a new halyard must be included with the masthead.
