Just a question Lowell, I don't recieve a digest every day. Looking back, I did not recieve one on the following dates: Feb. 9,12,17,22,23,24,29, and Mar. 5 and 6. There seems to be no pattern so I was wondering if there are no inputs for the day are there no outputs?

Yes, if there is no input there is no output. However I don't recall a day without a digest. I don't save the digests though, since the information is all saved in the clubhouse. Could be there are days without traffic but the number you state sounds too large to me.

Hi Dick, Thanks for the more detailed explaination. I had trouble logging, as I did so to day I think I found the problem. It was probably a bad e-mail address that I used to sign on, when the group came up I found I had entered a space---@the gearings.net. Obviously it when I went back to sign in, I did not put in the space, and could not get on. Lowell looked at it and corrected it for me, he has to a busy man, and to take time to do that for me I thnk is extremely kind. Thanks Lowell.
For now, I think the daily will do me, however, I have not gotten any for two days, I found your answer by looking through thelist.
Thanks, Al Ge

Using the mouse, just copy and paste the URL into your browser and hit enter. It takes about 5 seconds. That is a lot faster than I can type the URL into the URL window. To return to the Clubhouse, just select the "Back" button on the browser tool bar.

Dick, here's how to do it step-by-step:

1) Highlight/select the hyperlink address you want to go to;

2) Copy it (either right-click and select "Copy" or go to "Edit" then "Copy";

3) Go up to the brower address box at the top of your browser window (in Intenet Explorer it's labeled "Address");

4) Highlight/select the http address that is currently showing for the page you're looking at (in this case, http://65.247.190.44/store/forumTopicid.cfm?topic_id=1034);

5) Paste the copied address over the current address so the current address is replaced by the one you want to go to;

6) Hit your "Enter" key -- and you should be taken there.

Thanks guys, you can't imagine how much time you have saved me. I tried it both ways and am now a real live POWER USER. I also learned this week how to bounce back and forth between the digest and my Email without going on and off line each time. Thanks again. Dick R.

Hi Lowell,
I now get three or four copies, when I get them, which is not every day, but when I was looking through some of the postings I found some recent ones that I should have gotten but didn't. Is there any way to help my getting all, each day and not three copies of the same ones?
Much appreciate the forum, thanks in advance,
Al Gearing

I am fairly new to the forum and have signed up for the c22 email digest. I personally prefer reading email digests because I am on dial-up and downloading email takes much less online time thereby tying up my phone so I cannot receive calls. How about adding an option to receive the full messages in the digests?
Also, I would like to download the full forum archives as a compressed file so that I can easily search and access the accumulated knowledge offline, perhaps even print a paper copy. Is this possible or already available?
Thx
Ken

Dear Lowell:
I only occasionally get the daily listing of new postings. I know there is something wrong because either I have posted that day or I look at the active topics and find new messages even though I didn't get a daily posting with these new messages. Can this be fixed?
Thanks, Philip Merlier [email protected]

Still only RARELY getting the daily notification of new posts. I know this is not right because I check the Clubhouse topics and either observe new postings or know that I have posted the previous day.

I looked at the active threads during the last couple of days and there have been several new postings. However, I also have NOT been getting the daily digests. This the the first one that I got this week so I know there is something wrong with the system.

When I had a C25 you had to join the Catalina 25 Association to get the password to join the forum. But that's not so bad cause then you get the quarterly Catalina Magazine.

What I don't understand is how to start a new item for conversation. I don't want to ask a question on an unrelated topic.

Thanks

When you are logged in, first go to the area where you want to start, then there is a bullet near the top called "create a new discussion", just click and there you go!

Dave,

When I click on "Create a discussion topic", I get the message "Only Admins can create discussion topics." I was also talking with Lowell at tech support last week and he confirmed this.

It doesn't seem to matter if I go to Catalina Direct and sign on or go from a clubhouse email.

So I am still confused on this. I would appreciate some help. But I have been getting the clubhouse mail regularly so I don't want to cause a problem there.

Thanks.

Willard

Willard, What you are saying is truue BUT of you go to a discussion such as one of the main topics.

Anchoring, Buy / Sell, Cabin or any of the others you can then his "Create new discussion" and come up with a new thread that way.

I would assume that they think that there are enough of these main topics to cover any aspect of these boats and they want to keep that first main page less cluttered.
