Hello,

I've noticed that the retracted keel sways a bit when my Catalina 22 is on the trailer if it's not lowered enough to rest on the keel support. Is that normal, or cause for concern that my pivot bolt is shot?

Yeah, It's normal. The keel doesn't need to be completely rigid. However, once you get the boat on the trailer, you should always lower the keel so it rests in the support. You should never have keel supported by the keel cable during transport, as it puts unnecessary stress on the cable and winch.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't respond sooner...I'm not used to this forum software and actually didn't see that my question had been posted.
