Hi Phil, I am looking to install brakes this year also. I found out through others that some of the kits do not have replacement pads. You have to replace the whole caliper assembly. So be sure to ask for extra pads before you buy. I plan to get at least 1 extra set when I do mine.
On another note I put EXTREME DUTY pads on my 98 yukon. they are about 25% more pad surface area. |

Robert, I put surge activated stainless disc brakes on my trailer and have been pleased with them. I got the parts from Champion Trailers in Slidell, LA, after shopping around and comparing information. I had to put on a whole new axle, too, since mine was under sized. Here's a good article on disc vs. drum brakes for trailers: http://www.championtrailers.com/DrumVsDiscBrakeArtcl.htm The information Champion supplied really helped, as I had never installed an axle or brakes, before. |

I'll second the recommendation for Champion Trailers. I bought replacement parts for my surge brakes from them twice and got good service at reasonable prices. |
