I am considering buying a 1987 C22, but upon inspection, noticed flexibility in the foredeck between the anchor locker and the hatch. The owner stated to me that this is common, as catalina went from core construction to a single fiberglass layer starting in 1985.Is this correct? Should there be flexibility in that area, or should it feel rigid?

Run, Mike, Run! There are plenty of other good late 80s Catalina 22s in the sea that do not have a flexing foredeck.

Mike don't even go there. If you want one in good condition I have one in Milford. It is in the water in Cambridge. Respond here and I give you my e-mail or send you one with pictures.

Thanks for the guidance! Having been a hobie sailer for 20 years, I didnt think it should have been soft.

Please send pics and specs of your boat to [email protected]
