I have never liked the keel winch location just below the companion way hatch. My though is to use a block where the winch is now located and move the winch to the starboard side. This will take creation of some structural wood. I would think the direct pulling force of the keel would still be absorbed by the block (I have a very heavy duty block that came with a ceiling mount style electric hoist.
Has anyone made this modification?
