Hi, I've seen what looks like rubber or plastic gridlike panels being used as grating on the floor of some cockpits (in photos), but can't figure out what it is, much less where to buy it. It looks like something that would come as interlocking smaller panels, which could then be arranged to fit the area necessary. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and where I could purchase this material, Thanks, Scott |

Scott, I know west marine sells teak kits. In my business they make the type of rubber mats similar to what you may be looking for. They are called 'fatigue mats' for people who stand a lot in one spot. I did a google search, here are couple of links that sell direct.
Hope this helps
Steve

West Marine sells the product that you are looking for. I just looked it up in the catalog. They are called: Dri-Dek Panels. Page 850 of the 2004 Catalog. Listed under Interior Storage Solutions. Model #s 408536 plus many others of different colors, etc.. |

I would also recommend the heavy rubber like mats with large holes that are used on restaurant floors. You can cut one to fit your cockpit floor. I had one in a power boat I had and it held up very well in the outside elements. I have seen them sold at Sams Club.

I purchased from a local boat shop, hydroturf with an adhesive backing -cut to fit cleaned floor and pressed into place. Easy to wash , doesn't blow away and clumsy crew members dropping wench handels don't tear up the gel coat |
