What's the best way to mark 10 foot intervals on anchor rode ? I have a 100' rope rode.

I took direction from Roman Numerals and wove and knotted colored surveyors string at 10' intervals. One band per 10', two at 20', etc...at 50' I added a single band of another color. At 60' one band of the second color and one of the original, 70' has one band of the second color and two of the first.....
