We're considering getting this vent, but would like some feedback on the efficiency, etc before purchasing. Our boat is a 1977... has no front hatch ... does not have a poptop ... so we have NO air circulation in the V-berth. Are you folks who have installed this happy with the air circulation it provides? Any other ideas and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a 3" Solar Vent for 18 years. On Lake Ontario (NY), it does a great job of keeping the boat from being musty. It is an older one that operates only during the day. I'd suggest getting the one with the NiCad battery that works at night also. Mine is set up to exhaust air, and you don't get any breeze. I also have a square Coleco(?) battery operated fan ($25?) that runs on 4 D batteries for 48 hours. It has variable speed and is gret while sleeping. |
