The Moon Glow did not come with coaming boxes.. I see the use of these as the cockpit is a bowl of spagetti ropes at times. Questions: 1. I have seen plastic boxes available (West Marine?) and wonder if they leak? -and- 2. How does the coaming boxes allow water to drain? (hopefully NOT in the aft belly..
Thanx for any responses! This is a thought to reduce cockpit clutter.

I have coaming boxes, but don't use them for the jib sheets. I use the to hold my cell phone, winch handle, emergency horn, sail ties, etc.
Mine drain via holes at the aft end draining onto the cockpit seat. I don't know anything about the West Marine units. |

I have a West Marine box and it drains around the 'fence' in the front of the box. I don't knoe but small things might fall out too. I only use for winch handles, waterbottles, etc.
