I understand that mast bands must be installed on the top and bottom of the mast for class racing. If so what are the specfications for their placement? Thanks we were approach today after our racing about not having them.

Quoted from the Class Rules: Since you have not completed your profile entries, I do not know whether you have an old or new style boat. Please note the new style lower band placement is different than the old style and the mast is shorter, due to the higher cabin overhead. You also need a band on the boom. See below:

e. Banding
General - mast and boom shall be marked with one inch band of contrasting color tape.
(1) Mast - the lower band on the mast must be placed so the top edge of the band is at least 3 feet 6 inches above the mast step. The upper band on the mast must be placed so the bottom edge of the band is no more than 21 feet above the top edge of the lower band. The new-style boat has a shorter mast; therefore the lower band must be placed so the top edge of the band is at least 3 feet 3
inches above the mast step. The upper band placement is the same as that on the old-style boat.
(2) Boom - the forward edge of the boom band must be placed no more than 9 feet 10 inches aft of the
aft edge of the mast.
