Since my turning ball is quite worn, I would like to replace it.
I've removed the keel cable hose, but I can't figure out how to remove the turning ball.

There's a pin that runs through the axis of the turning ball (athwartships) and bears on the metal extension pipe of the "volcano". You should be able to push the pin out with little effort (poke it out of there with a small screwdriver tip or something like that) as the keel cable hose and clamps are what keeps the pin in place.
