I have an older C22 and trailer that have never seemed to fit each other. The boat fits the trailer OK, but the tongue is too light. I have tried to get the boat farther forward on the trailer but can't move it any farther. I think I could jack up the trailer and move the axle back to get more tongue weight. Has anybody tried this? My first thought would be to move the axle back maybe 6 inches and see how that adjusted tongue weight and the way the trailer handled. I'm open to comments and advise.

Just a thought, but I have seen where people install a mount for their outboard on the winch post. That would add 40-60 lbs or so depending on your motor.

Moving the axle 3-6 " at a time should do the trick. |

Thanks David and Lynn,
The boat comes out of storage next week. Once the trailer is on concrete I should be able to get the axle moved. Thanks for your suggestions.
