I recently purchased Catalina 22 #885. The traveler bar is extremely loose and I don't see how to access the nuts to tighten the bolts. It has about an inch of play fore and aft and is also stressing the fiberglass where the bolts are inserted. How do I snug the bar? Thanks for any suggestions.

There's a couple of ways to get to it depending on your boat's particulars; some you can get to if you crawl under the cockpit, some you have to cut some holes in the cockpit side of the transom. I don't know what years are accessible from where.

Any holes you cut can be covered with a small chrome louver (CD has some).

Here's a link to a cut away cross section that shows how to get a wrench on it : https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/rwahlfel/www/KenPalmerCrossSections.htm

Good luck!
