I bought a new main from Catalina Direct last year. I wasn't able to get down to the marina to sail my boat for about three weeks last fall which was also a time of heavy rains. When I did get down to the boat and unfurled the main from the boom I noticed dark patches in some of the creases, which I can only surmise happened because of the rain leaking in through the sail cover onto the sail. Has anyone else experienced this and would know what I could use to get the stains out?
Many Thanks |

Sounds like some mildew to me. Try about 1/4 cup bleach in a gallon of water and an ounce of dish soap. Brush the area on both sides to remove the staining. Rinse and let it dry in the sun. |
