Our StarBoard Marine Plastic handrails are an easy addition that reduces the routine maintenance needed to keep your boat shipshape. A simple washing as you swab down the deck is the only maintenance required.

A direct replacement for your original equipment teak handrails, the center to center dimensions of the mounting pads are identical to the teak. The same patterns used to make the teak handrails are used to make our StarBoard handrails. Just unfasten the teak and fasten the StarBoard handrail in its place.

Our StarBoard Marine handrails are made of high density polyethylene. It has an additive mixed in to protect it from the effects of ultra violet light.

Five loop handrails were a factory option on the Catalina 22 until the second generation boat was introduced in mid 1985. In 1986, with the second generation boat, the factory included internal halyards as standard equipment and cabin top mounted halyard winches as factory options. This change required shortening the handrails to four loop, making room for the winches.

After using seven loop handrails for years, Catalina changed to a 5 loop handrail on the Catalina 25. We believe use of the five loop began with hull number 5803 in June of 1988.

The early Catalina 27 also used five loop handrails. Later, seven loop handrail became the norm. We believe this change occurred with hull number 5536 in 1984 when the deck changed and the smoked plex windows were introduced. Unfortunately, there is no mention of the handrail change in Catalina's records, so this is only an educated guess.

Approximately 53" long, They may be used on any boat where they are a suitable length.

Supplied undrilled so you can match the holes in your deck.
