Matches angle of flat head fasteners
• Create conical holes to match the angle on the bottom side of the head of flat head screws.
• Results in flat head screws sitting flush with the deck or hardware.
Use when installing hardware on the deck or when installing pintles on rudders
• Relieves the stress points found at the sharp edges of a straight hole.
• Provides space below the top surface of the deck for beading compound to live surrounding the fastener
• Creates a better seal to the deck.
The 1/2" diameter counter sink bit can be used for smaller holes by not using the full length of the bit. Use the 1/4" shank on a power drill. Slowly remove material, checking depth as you go, until you reach the depth required for the size of the flat head screws or bolts you are using.
