You may want to consider replacing your rudder with a new all plastic rudder. It is less expensive, has a true airfoil shape for better handling, and has no foam core to absorb water like the original equipment rudders. See "May we also suggest" below.

3) The tooling to produce this rudder is getting pretty old. The parts they produce are no longer as pristine as when the molds were new. This is not an issue if you are not racing the boat, but if you are racing the boat you will want refinish the surface to remove any mold marks.

4) When you order a special order item it sets off a chain of events like Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. Once you turn the valve the chocolate is coming down the pipe. If you then decide you want caramel, the chocolate is still going to come out of the pipe. We can't put the Chocolate back in the pipe, so someone is going to have to eat it, and it's not going to be us! Your order can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into caramel, so please order carefully the first time!
