This block is more robust and specifically designed for the application compared to the the version supplied in the factory adjustable backstay option which connected to a fork as opposed to a marine eye. If you are replacing only the top poriton of the backstay for an asjustable backstay, you may need this block to connect to the marine eye standard in our kits.
