Give your Capri 22 a rest. Enjoy better performance while sailing yet let your boat relax while she's in her slip by taking the tension off the rig. For those with roller furling, an adjustable backstay makes trailering easier too. Ease the backstay adjuster and pull the top of the mast forward with a halyard. Now you can remove the forestay clevis pin without having to gain access to the forestay turnbuckle.

In 2012 Catalina started supplying their boats with Seldén masts and standing rigging. Current production Capri 22 (hulls 1259 and up) are now equipped with Seldén rigs. These boats require different mast fittings. If your boat has a Seldén rig, call our Technical Support at 916/843-1971.
  • How long does standing rigging last?

    Since rigging fails inside of the end fittings where they cannot be inspected, prudence dictates that standing rigging be replaced every seven years for boats sailed in salt water, every ten years for those sailed in fresh water.

  • How often must I tune my new rigging?

    You should “pre flight” and “post flight” your rig before and after every sail. Every time you sail in more wind than you have sailed in previously with your new rigging, it must be re-tuned.
