*Owner with a M3-20 engine in their C-28 did not have room in their engine compartment for this larger retrofit alternator. It may be tough retrofit in any C-28 given their smaller engine compartments.

Use the included wire assembly to connect the high output alternator to the starter. You may want to check the gauge and condition of wire from the starter to the battery and the battery back to the alternator to ensure the wire can handle the new increased electrical load.

Recommended minimum wire sizes for output current:
• 5' or less: No. 8
• 5' to 10': No. 6
• 10' to 20': No. 4

Remember a minimum of 12 volts is needed for the alternator excite to work for proper charging for this alternator or any other boat alternators.
