We roll swage a stud onto the lower end of the wire. The body screws directly onto the stud eliminating the top turnbuckle toggle. There are fewer parts that can fail and fewer parts to snag your sheets. We replace your old toggle with a forged T-bolt design which cannot accidentally unscrew from the bottom slug like earlier designs. Turnbuckle clevis pins and new cotter pins are provided. Includes a backstay pigtail to hold your boom while at anchor or in your slip.

Caution: Always unhook the pigtail before attempting to hoist the main. If you get a puff with the main partially raised and the boom hooked to the backstay, you may break the hook on the pigtail. Worse, if the hook doesn't break, you are likely to round up into the wind uncontrollably and hit someone or something you hadn't planned on!

You may want to consider either a Boomkicker or a topping lift to handle the boom while hoisting the main or during a reef. You may just prevent whacking someone in the head with the boom!
