1) These lengths are typical of those used in sails built before 1987. In 1988 the Catalina 22 National Association changed the class rules to allow longer battens for a better sail shape. Any sails built after 1987 should have longer batten, but measure your sail before ordering. Your sailmaker just may have decided on a different length.

Remember, just because your boat is a 1984 doesn't mean new sails weren't purchased after 1987 by a previous owner.

2) These lengths are longer than the nominal length specified for the Catalina 22. Since sails are made by hand, we supply extra length so you can trim to a proper fit for your individual sail. In addition, we provide two lengths greater than required for either, so if you loose one, another will suffice. End caps are supplied loose so you can trim trim the batten with a hack saw, then install the caps with the super glue provided.
