This part has also been used by racing oriented Catalina 22 sailors under the lower shroud chainplate eyebolt. It provides an attachment point under the deck, inside the cabin. Another eyebolt mounted to the liner at berth level provides an additional attachment point. A short wire and turnbuckle between these two points adds additional strength and stiffness to the rig.
