Spinnaker Gear Kit, Cruising C-25

Part #: E1908
$421.32
Most of our customers purchase cruising spinnakers when they want to increase performance in light air. They are not for racing, but rather for casual sailing with the family.
In order to avoid breaking the bank, we have chosen lighter hardware appropriate for the expected load on the Catalina 25. For example, the car and block assembly is rated at 1150 pounds, not the larger block with a 2000 pound rating that might be used for a racing spinnaker.

We include a masthead spinnaker crane so the sail can be flown forward of the forestay and in clear air.

If you plan on flying a spinnaker in heavy air, call our tech support department for assistance in designing the appropriate package for your needs.
• Diameters: 1/4" & 5/16"
• Lengths: (2) @ 45' (1/4") and (1) @ 80' (5/16")
• Construction: Double braid continuous strand line without mill splices (see "Technical Support" below for the full story)
• Fiber: Dacron Polyester cover, w/ Polyester core
• Stretch: Very low stretch
• Color: White

To prevent the line from twisting or binding when used in a cascade or mainsheet system the stainless steel block that is supplied in this kit has a feature to lock the rotation of the shackle that is on top of the body of the block. With the use of an Allen wrench, tighten the set screw to lock the shackle in position. When used as a swiveling block, as is the case for the spinnaker gear kit, ensure the set screw is not tightened and the swiveling shackle can self-align to find the fairest lead.

The length of this item is based on the original factory specifications. However, the previous owner, like Captain Jack Sparrow, may have had an entirely different idea about how to rig a boat! Please confirm this is the correct length for your particular boat. We cut it from a long length and can't splice it back together again. Your order cannot be canceled, returned or exchanged, but, like Jack, you may have a different idea of what you can use it for!
