There are several different backstay configurations employed by Catalina Yachts for the Catalina 250. Depending on the specifics of your boat, the second chainplate U-bolt is installed on the port side, forward of the original chainplate. In other cases, the U-bolt is installed on the opposite side of the boat from the tang used for the standing part of the cascade wire.

A user installed swageless compression terminal fitting is supplied for the bottom end of the top backstay wire. This allows you to determine the length necessary for the top wire of your installation and install the bottom end in the field.

1) This backstay was designed for a Catalina 250 with a single backstay whose chainplate is on the cockpit sole next to the swim ladder. If you have any other configuration, please call our tech support line for advice.

2) This stay is made to order just for you. When you order it we cut the wire from a long reel and swage on the fitting. We can't splice it back onto the reel or remove the fitting we swaged on for you. Once you order it your order cannot be canceled, modified, returned, or exchanged, so please choose carefully!

3) Please inspect your boat carefully to determine that you can access the inside of the boat at the mounting location so you can install the backing plate and nuts for the second chainplate.

4) A 50% deposit will be billed when your order for this item is accepted. The balance will be billed when the product ships.
