Yes, it must be sanded fair with the surrounding area using wet/dry sandpaper, then brought to a shine with mechanical buffing using rubbing compound.

The color is the same as when your boat was built. Over time your boat has changed color, so the repair won’t match perfectly. You will see the repair. It is likely guests aboard will never notice.

It has a limited shelf life. We intend it to be used for a single repair only. Once opened, it will begin to harden in the package. It must be used soon after opening. Don't expect it to work a month after receiving it and don't expect it to work after it has been open for a week. Complete your prep work in advance so that upon receipt of the product, you can take advantage of the full contents of the package.

Dozens of different colors have been used over the years. The California and Florida boats were even different colors. A minimum batch quantity is required to custom match each color. The colors we offer sell fast enough to prevent loss due to a limited shelf life. Other colors do not.

If we shipped it to you within the last 30 days, call us. We will send another package at no charge or refund your purchase price. If it has been longer than 30 days, order a fresh package.

Every spring we have a “Gel Coat Month”. We’ll send a mailer. When you receive it, place your order online from the choices offered. If we reach the minimum batch requirement, we will process the order at that time. Not all colors will be offered. Some are no longer available.
