Turnbuckle w/cover and t-bolt. These are the original equipment style turnbuckles used on Catalinas starting in 1995 and ending in the early 2010's.
These were never our favorite turnbuckles. The body was machined from a piece of bronze bar stock by a digitally controlled milling machine. It is strong and less expensive to manufacture. But the milling machine leaves both edges of the vertical slots knife sharp. They are ready to slice into your hand when you grasp the turnbuckle to adjust it!
Our traditional open body turnbuckles are cast from bronze, hand finished, then chrome plated. They are easy to flush with fresh water, the adjustment is readily visible, and the entire turnbuckle is smooth. See "May we also suggest" below for an example.
