We highly recommend you consider upgrading to our stainless steel version pictured below under "May we also suggest". Nothing's worse than your emergency tiller head failing without warning when you need it most. In an emergency situation, when your primary steering has already failed, is when the wind will be the heaviest, the seas the greatest and the load on your emergency tiller head the highest.

Cast aluminum, by its nature, fails catastrophically with almost no deformation to warn you. Stainless steel will deform providing advance warning long before failure. It is unlikely our robust stainless steel upgrade will ever fail.
