Greatest extension of the primary casting into the spreader
(i.e. the extension of the middle leg): 22.5mm (~.88")

Fasteners: 10-24 x 3/8"

1) Be sure to apply a bit of the included LocTite to the threads of the fasteners to prevent the fastener from backing out of the casting.

2) Apply MareLube where the aluminum components mate with each other (including the inside of the spreader extrusion) to prevent corrosion over time.

3) These spreader end tips and inserts were made by Iosmat. The spar company who supplied most of Catalina’s rigs used these parts on masts extruded by both Isomat and Sparcraft. By the time these Catalina models were built, most of the masts were Sparcraft. Occasionally Catalina was forced to use masts supplied by other companies. If your mast is other than an Isomat or Sparcraft mast, for example a Z-Spar mast, these spreader parts are not likely to fit correctly.
