This is a stand alone upgrade for boats that have windlasses with up and down foot switches indicating that the install included a solenoid. If your windlass only has a single foot switch, then you will need to order an appropriate solenoid with this kit as well. A second foot switch is not required but is often nice to have the added wired control if there is room for it in your anchor locker or nearby.
