1) Clean up the mast and mast collar that will be in contact with the poured Spartite.

2) Tune rig and stabilize the mast in the collar, using wedges below the pour area if needed, Figure 2.

3) Use the supplied clay and foam, making strips to form a dam to contain the the liquid Spartite, Figure 3.

4) Use petroleum jelly to coat the inside collar and clay floor, Figure 4. This will allow for reuse when the mast is removed from the boat as the formed plug will stay adhered to mast.

5) Use masking tape to create a dam around the top of your collar, Figure 5, finishing off your mold for the Spartite.

6) Mix contents of Part A and Part B using the included mixing cups following the detailed instructions before pouring into your mold, Figure 6. You will need to allow it to cure for at least 48 hours before sailing or possibly 3 to 4 days in cool weather.

7) Install set screws through the collar, fore and aft, into the Spartite ring approximately 1/4".

8) Install the supplied Spartite decal to the mast above any boot to notify riggers that the mast is chocked by Spartite.

1) Once opened the Spartite has a limited shelf life, so only open when you are ready to use.

2) Spartite must not come into contact with water or other liquids while mixing or until it sets up. Such contaminates will weaken the system.

3) When unstepping the mast, make sure to remove the set screws in the collar first, if installed.
