Replacement caps for your original Deck Fill Pipes. If the caps on your boat completely cover the bronze Deck Fill Pipe flange and use the winch handle has the wrench, these are the correct replacements.
You will notice that they are now color coded in addition to the English (and Swedish) labels on the original black caps. Blue is water, black waste, and red for fuel making it much harder to fill your Diesel tank with water. Having almost made that mistake more than once, I'd be tempted to replace the current (all black) caps just for safety sake!
Threaded portions of cap that threads into pipe is 1-13/16" OD, overall width IS 3-3/8" OD.
1) Price is for a single cap only... no Deck Fill Pipe or key.
2) Due to differences in thread pitch on various Deck Fill Pipes, this cap is not interchangeable with other designs. It is only intended as a replacement for the same design.
3) The color of these caps will fade. Catalina used thousands of these Swedish made Deck Fill Pipes over the years. They seal well, conveniently open with just a winch handle as the wrench, and being color coded they make it more difficult to put water in the fuel tank.
With over 2000 islands to explore, the Stockholm Archipelago is a glorious sailing area. It is also nearly the same latitude as Anchorage Alaska. It is so far north that these plastic caps don’t fade for years. But put them on a boat in California, Texas or Florida and they will fade within months.
Since all Deck Fill Pipes have different thread pitch and thread form and are not interchangeable, we have duplicated these caps in stainless steel. They are a perfect match for these Deck Fill Pipes and are bulletproof. They will never fade and will seal forever if the O-ring is replaced occasionally. See "May we also suggest" below to purchase the stainless version of this cap.
Fading of these caps is a feature of their manufacture and is not considered a defect. They will not be replaced under warrantee when they fade. If you want caps that don’t fade purchase the stainless version.
