If you are replacing an earlier rigid vang, it is best to replace with the same brand and model as original. There have been several different manufacturers products installed by Catalina over the years. Every manufacturer uses a different bracket design and many of the brackets are hand made. As a result, it is unlikely a new vang's new bracket will fit your original bracket's hole pattern in your mast or boom.

We recommend using your original bracket, replacing only the vang itself. This eliminates any fastener alignment issues.

2) A 50% nonrefundable deposit will be billed when your order for this item is accepted. The balance will be billed when the product ships.

3) When you order a special order item it sets off a chain of events like Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. Once you turn the valve the chocolate is coming down the pipe. If you then decide you want caramel, the chocolate is still going to come out of the pipe. We can't put the Chocolate back in the pipe, so someone is going to have to eat it, and it's not going to be us! Your order can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into caramel, so please order carefully the first time!

4) Warning: When replacing a Charleston Spar provided vang or some of the later screw type vangs supplied for some of the in in-mast furling rigs, the boom bracket may require repositioning to accommodate this longer vang.
