Upper rudder bearing assembly for early Catalina 42s.

The bearing assembly is accessed through the inspection port just aft of the pedestal in the cockpit. Once open, you will see two stainless steel rollers supported by a cross pin that roll on a bronze collar. The system was designed to allow for smooth operation of the steering system. The collar and or the rollers can wear down with age allowing for excess slop in the rudder at the top of the rudder. If your rudder has excess movement where the shaft exits the hull, then you might also need our rudder bearing epoxy repair kit listed in "May we also suggest" below.

Assembly includes:
• (2) Stainless steel rollers
• (1) Axle pin with bearings, cotter pins, and washers
• (1) Bronze collar

• Outside Diameter: 6"
• Inside diameter: 2.872" (for 2.860" rudder posts)
• Inside diameter tolerance: -0.000"/+0.003" (2.872" to 2.875")
• Height: 2.5"
• Axel pin dia: 1/2"
• Axel length: 5"
• Roller dia: 1.5"
